iFish

iFish is a database generator for the iRiver H (formerly known as iHP) series harddisk jukeboxes.

iFish has been programmed in Java, and thus runs on any operating system supporting Java (like Linux, Windows and MacOS X).

March 6 2006: Finally an update after quite a while! Primary the user interface has been improved. And iFish is now also available in french (Luc Marchand) and czech (Dragon.lord). Thanks to the translators!

October 27 2005: The webstart button is working again. (Kudos to Luc, I probably would have never noticed it myself.)

June 27 2005: iFish celebrates its first year today. Happy birthday! :)

May 25 2005: iFish v1.3 resolves Bug 7 which refused to write playlists under certain circumstances. Also, a command line option --sync has been added.

May 03 2005: iFish v1.2 got a few bugfixes, and ID3 tag charsets can be selected now.

March 31 2005: iFish v1.1 now understands WMA/ASF tags, and offers to prepend track numbers to file names.

March 7 2005: iFish v1.0 finishes the beta phase.

February 9 2005: iFish v0.6 beta has been released. It comes with a new playlist editor that allows custom playlists. Please test this release thoroughly, because I am going to bump the next release as v1.0.

December 23 2004: iFish v0.5 beta has been released. It fixes some bugs, but no features have been added.

December 13 2004: iFish v0.4 beta has been released today. Besides bugfixes and some improvements, a new playlist generator has been added which generates playlists of all new songs. Documentation is already up to date. Please test this version thorougly, and send bug reports!

October 10 2004: an online documentation is available now, too.

October 06 2004: a PDF version of the manual is now available. I am currently working on an online manual.

September 30 2004: iFish v0.3 beta was released today. This release is a major step toward completion. The mp3 tag parser has been completely overhauled and is now working as expected. iFish can be connected to an external player. Furthermore, playlists can be generated automatically. I will release a quick and dirty documentation soon. Please test this version thorougly, and send bug reports!

August 01 2004: iFish v0.2 alpha was released today. This version mainly contains bug fixes, but I have also added a countdown for the database synchronisation process.

June 27 2004: iFish v0.1 alpha was released today. The program does its job, but the GUI is a little bit complicated, and there is also quite some potential for speed optimizations in it. Please test this release on your computer and send me your bug reports and requests for enhancements.
